Is there a fee to submit to the competition?
No, there is no fee. It is completely free.
I do not have permissions to show my work until ______. When will my work be shown publicly?
Our current schedule is to announce nominees on June 10, 2024. If your work is nominated we will be making the work public around this timeframe.
Do I need to attend the awards ceremony if I win or am nominated?
This year, the ceremony will be 100% online. Nominees and winners are invited to participate via pre-recorded testimonials.
The project I'm submitting was a group assignment. Can I still participate?
No, you can't. All entries must be individual.
I created my entry during my time at school but it was not an assignment. Can I still enter?
No, you can't. The goal of the Awards is to recognize the work done by students for their school assignments, avoiding any professional or personal work.
I created my entry with (insert Software name here) can I still submit?
Yes you can. There are no restrictions on which software you can use to create your submission(s).
I'm having problems uploading, what other options do I have to submit my work?
While most people do not have problems, slow or unreliable internet connections can sometimes cause the upload process to fail. If this happens to you try to send your upload again from a different connection or browser. If you are still experiencing problems, please contact us at 3dawards@cgarchitect.com.
What is the schedule for the competition?
The competition will follow the following schedule: (Dates Subject to Change)
- Submissions: April 15 - May 12 (23:59 GMT -03:00)
- Judging: May 13 - May 31(23:59 GMT -03:00)
- Nominees Announcement: June 10 (00:00 GMT -03:00)
- Event: June 26 (13:00 GMT -03:00)
Final deadline for claiming the prizes: July 26, 2024 (If, for any reason, the winner does not claim their prizes until July 26, 2024, the prizes will be considered forfeited).
What are the differences between the various categories?

My project has been published on another site or in another competition, can I still enter?
Yes, we do not have any requirements for exclusivity. The only requirement is that the project was created or made public in 2023/2024.
When will I receive prizes that were outlined in the prizes section?
Sponsors will attempt to contact each selected winner, nominee, entrant by email in June/July 2024.
I am a student and I created my submissions as part of my class project, can I submit?
Works created by students for the student category must have been completed entirely by the student. No assistance from school staff or other professionals is allowed other than providing basic general guidance. Pre-made scenes provided by the school, scenes that are used as part of a teaching plan or curriculum, and scenes that are not an original creation of the student are not allowed. Scenes found to be in violation of these criteria will be disqualified.
I am not enrolled in an accredited school. Can I enter the contest?
No, you can't. Proof of educational status may be required in order to validate your entry. If a participant fails to present such proof, they'll be automatically disqualified.
I'm currently enrolled in a free course (not a degree program). Do I qualify to participate?
Unfortunately, you do not. The 3D Student Awards are exclusively open to students enrolled in accredited courses, such as those offered by colleges, universities, and undergraduate programs. Free courses or online courses that do not lead to a degree are not eligible, ensuring fairness among all participants.
I completed my entry during my course last year but have already graduated. Can I still participate?
Yes, you can still participate as long as your entry complies with the competition's rules and criteria.
Is there an age limit for entering the contest?
Yes. Participants must be aged between 18 and 30 years at the time of entry to qualify for participation in the awards. This age requirement ensures the competition maintains its focus on fostering young talent within the industry.
