Notes
Architecture in nature can exist in harmony or disparity. The Suspension House is a prime example of the former; anchored above a creek by the flanks of a bedrock hill, it works with the natural environment around it, rather than fighting against it. To illustrate this relationship, our Virtual Reality experience portrays the house in nature’s many states. The user is taken on a trip through different key locations as the weather changes and the time of day progresses. “Suspension House” aims for photorealism and storytelling, while also giving the user the agency to create their own personal experience.
We created hand-sketched storyboards and a cinematic trailer for the VR experience as well. The trailer was rendered in real-time in Unreal Engine. Since inception, our goal has been to tell the story of this property in a unique way. Through new techniques in 3D sound, locomotion, and photorealistic Substance textures, we are expanding how we tell stories in VR.
