The Unaugmented City
The city without inhabitants is a bare, machine readable canvas. High contrast codes adorn flat surfaces. Instead of signage in any human language, barcodes mark street corners, shop windows and warning signs. The markers occur at regular intervals, and in areas likely to be gazed at. They serve the purpose of providing extra accuracy for the populations’ AR contact lens perspective tracking. While lenses can track natural features and 3D objects in realtime, the markers provide an additional layer of accuracy. The camera captures the view that no-one can see, the naked city, devoid of augmentations.
