Paul Nicholls / Factory Fifteen

Ming & Mei is a proposal for a new cultural gateway in Taichung, Taiwan. Acting as a transitional zone between city and parkscape, its two diverging masses, one a museum and the other a library celebrate the void between them as a grand entrance into the city’s new Gateway Park. Bars protrude at varying distances, articulating their type and use in relation to each other.

Image set was commissioned as part of HWKN’s 10 year monograph. We were encouraged to add to the project with our own creative and compositional flair, stepping outside of the project's original context and into the sublime.
