A SAUDI STORY WITH SNOHETTA
To help promote global culture and pride in Saudi Arabia’s heritage, the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture designed by Snohetta is rising from the desert close to Dhahran in the east of the country. As part of this project we have created two short films - one to tell the story of the building’s concept and creation, and the other to show the excitement and potential of the building in use. The films begin with intriguing imagery of the building growing from the Saudi soil and then weave together new footage of the Saudi landscape and people, high-quality animations, graphics and specially commissioned music. The building is to be clad in 500km of steel tubing made in roughly 3m sections, each section totally unique. Recreating this façade in 3D posed some major challenges
