Notes
This video was one of the tests carried out as part of my Diploma in Architecture Thesis. I was researching and experimenting on ways to utilize video game technologies to augment visualization and/or creation of architectural spaces.
The textured 3D architectures I created were imported into a Game Engine and using Microsoft's Kinect, to track my body movements in real time, I programmed and created a series of natural gestures enabling me to physically navigate and interact with the virtual space without the need of hardware controls. For instance, to move forward, lifting of the right foot towards the front simulates a forward motion whereas lifting of the right towards the back creates a backwards motion. To turn right or left, moving the arm along the respective directions replicates the movement on screen. A physical jump and crouch performs the said motion on screen.
