Many iterations of the Space Elevator exist in scientific proposals and science fiction. All of these were referenced so that something new and exciting could be designed which hadn’t been seen before. If these Space Elevators are to be functional after hundreds of years of non-use, then they will certainly need a renewable source of energy. None better than the sun. A solar system had to be developed which can take advantage of any position the sun could be in throughout the day. Pine cone structures were a good reference to the kind of structure that would help achieve the desired look and effect.
