MediaCity Bergen

In the fall of 2012 Placebo Effects was asked to produce a film to communicate the innovative competition entry of Mad architects and real estate developer Entra for the largest media cluster in Norway in the city of Bergen. The vision for the project was to create a leading international cluster for innovation and knowledge in media by putting people from various media production companies, technology, education and research under one roof.

The goal of the film was to aid the decision makers in seeing the urban and architectural qualities and benefits distinguishing this project from the competition.

Placebo Effects was given a lot of freedom by client Entra in developing the script for the film.
Playing on emotional strings such as local pride and media technological prowess and by making a live action film that seemed to document the future opening of the building as if it was already made, the film proved instrumental in helping the project team win the invited competition.
