Title: Vo Thanh Temple (Temple for the Patron Saints of Martial Arts), Completed: March 2012, Summary: Vo Thanh Temple is one of the landmarks that make up the Complex of Hue Monuments, officially recognized as A World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. The temple was built around 1835 under the order of Emperor Minh Mang of the Nguyen Dynasty, and used as a place to worship the high-ranking military officers who passed away. Due to various historical events, the temple has been completely destroyed. After Hue was named World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, the Vietnamese government started a long-term process of restoring the damaged and/or destroyed historic structures, among which is the Vo Thanh Temple. Our interactive visualization of the temple is a part of the restoration project. It acts as an digital prototype to help communicate the historic details to the architects, historians and other experts of the restoration project. It will also be used as a tool to promote history education and local tourism.
