Factory Fifteen

Stonetown from the sea 2059.

This is the world famous view of Stonetown as it is approached via ferry from Dar es Salaam. At lowtide we see rubbish piles and broken ‘dhow’ boats littering the sea bed.

In the distance we see how stonetown has grown. Hotels, restaurants, bars and nightclubs are all advertising that Zanzibar is home to the world’s greatest jumping fish. It is obvious that fishing is a thing of the past and Stonetown’s new industry is tourism.
