YEAR: 1947
LOCATION: Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires
ARCHITECTS: Marcel Breuer, Eduardo Catalano, Carlos Coire
This very personal project mixes some of the things I love the most: the Modern Movement, Bauhaus and the lovely city of Mar del Plata in Argentina.
The "Parador Ariston" was designed in the 40s by no others than the hungarian Bauhaus professor Marcel Breuer and argentinian architects and professors Eduardo Catalano and Carlos Coire.
It's the ONLY building designed by a Bauhaus member in Latin America.
Sadfully, it has been abandoned for decades and time has had no mercy with it. Now its situation is deplorable.
I've studied this building ever since I was at University, and something that always frustrated me was the fact that there are no color photographies of the building in its original state. So, I decided to create them myself.
Hopefully, these visuals will become public enough to help everyone realize of the real jewel we have in our city and to not let it dissapear
