The image is a component of an ongoing project aiming to digitally recreate some of the iconic architecture left by the ancient Roman empire in Southern Italy. The process commenced with site scanning and necessitated documentation regarding the building criteria and historical context, which differed from what we can see today. Beyond the historical significance of the entire work, the image conveys a narrative. It illustrates the arrival that an individual, particularly the emperor of that era, would have encountered when viewing the island and its residences from the sea – a captivating journey drawing to a close. The gentle illumination, evocative of reminiscences, serves to highlight the natural beauty and offer the observer a glimpse of the forthcoming moments.
