My image aims at reinterpreting the story of Narcissus, drawing from 1903 John William Waterhouse’s painting as its main inspiration.
According to Greek mythology, after a divine curse was bestowed upon him, Narcissus fell in love with his own reflected image, and tragically died due to his vanity.
I sought a sense of visual tension both in the image’s composition and in its mood.
