Notes
Choreography x Architecture x AI - an experimental animation exploring the relationships of body and space through the abstract body and queer movement derived from motion capture of real dancers.
The project is constructing a system that utilizes motion capture data as the major input, combining with a series of volumetric operations and neural textural operations to generate different layers of “skin” around a body, including the actual shape of such body, the spatial skin around the body, and the textural image mapped on the body.
The three layers are synchronized by a dancing source while each layer is treated with different variations. The permutation of different variations can create what is considered – a synthetic spatial body zoology.
Note:
This film was created as part of an educational program. But as a self-taught artist, I personally have gained professional experience operating a design practice. Based on the rules and for fairness, if this is appropriate, I didn't submit this to the Student category.
