The idea behind the image is to express a sense of peace and calm, and at the same time an inescapable sense of strangeness, of imbalance.
From a creative point of view, the main difficulty concerned the search for a strategy to express this dichotomy. What I tried to do was mixing contrasting elements, anthropic
and natural, trying to balance them appropriately through the composition, lighting and choice of materials.
Nature vehemently enters a distorted and destabilized environment and then gradually stops to express a sense of calm through the sinuous motionless dunes in the background and the traces of sand wedged between the cracks in the concrete floor in the foreground. The tent, a simple, lightweight, fragile element, preserves its integrity despite everything, and, moved by the wind, lets warm and enveloping light in.
The movement of these elements is then balanced by the shapes and materials of the furnishings which, recalling pure volumes, express a strong horizontality to the scene.
