Notes
The main aim of this project is to create an iconic building which acts as an ecological prototype for building in cities that contributes to decreasing the carbon footprint and let cities breathe.
Instead of creating a "stand-alone" cultural center, the aim was to create a dynamic project that dissolves the boundary between building, landscape, and the context. It opens up to the sea view and the city through a series of dynamic terraces, public plaza, and accessible green roof that contains walking paths, seating, and activity areas. Thus providing outdoor spaces for social interaction on different levels. While on the inside, a series of voids/ courtyards are created and thus urban and internal connectivity is achieved.
How visitors occupy the building, interact, and do activities says more about a culture than just a visually iconic building.
