Notes
Modeled in 3DSMax using boolean modifer to create the apertures to the volume. I used the AEC stairs modifer for the stairs. A procedural stone tile texure was created for the tiles to have a randum colour of each tile. Lighting was from above with passes rendered and post produced to create the God rays.

Sources of Inspiration and References
Grand Staircase modeled in 3DSMax and Rendered in Corona Renderer. Design was inspired by the interior of the Guggenheim New York. God rays proved a challenge using Corona Volume Material with Corona Sun and Sky lights.
