The film is about an icy, oxygen-starved asteroid in the outer solar system, where humans set up a base and continue to explore the universe further. The film implies that human beings should not fight with each other for limited resource, but should overcome the estrangement, unite as one, explore the wider universe together, and drive the development of human civilization. It also means that no matter what kind of adversity people face, they will never give up, just as the slogan at the end of the film says, dreams never end.
