Notes
Patchy is the name of the tea set I designed, consisting of a sugar bowl, teapot and cups. It is inspired by the already existing collections of Circle by Alessandra Facchinetti, who was supportive in creating the basic shapes of the objects in the collection; and Tongue by Bethan Laura Wood, who helped me develop the details, in this case, the handles and stoppers.
The name was chosen because of the phonetic roundness of the term and, nonetheless, because of its etymological root. In fact, 'patches,' i.e.
'splinters, fragments, pieces,' along with disks, laces and various geometric solids are the real protagonists of the video's physiognomy.
We find ourselves inside a dream world where the movement of the various objects creates a sense of suspension and curiosity.
The moment of tea, of pause and relaxation, becomes a real experiential adventure, through which to delve into this mysterious, curious and out-of-time place and where the Patches orbit and meet harmoniously.
