Medea is the scene that I created during the third wave of the coronavirus in early 2021.
I try to capture the beginning of a Greek tragedy. The curtain rises but there isn’t nobody in the theater. The coronavirus has destroyed the cultural sector in Italy in which a lot of people have lost their jobs. My image wants to be a “report”. But at the back of the room, there is an open door from which a white, warm, promising light comes.
It’s the hope that the future is better than the present.
The actors are about to enter the scene, an apple falls.
"The show must go on".

Sources of Inspiration and References
I think that light is the protagonist of my images and for this reason my inspirations and references are mainly art (specifically the painters who use light such as Caravaggio and William Turner), photography (Alex Webb, Luigi Ghirri, Franco Fontana), cinematography (Wes Anderson, Kubrick, Gondry) and the theory of color by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
I always try to create photorealistic images, capable of telling a story even only through the use of colors and light. I love the balances and contrasts that these two elements can create between them: together they can generate emotions and moods. The protagonists, when they are present, are alone: I try to tell their story in a precise moment of their life: for example, the old man who loses his wife, a garbage man who wakes up before everyone else.
