Sources of Inspiration and References
This image it has been presented on the 15 June 2021 during the contest D2 TMRW, the challenge focused on visualizing a habitat on Mars idealizing a better future for humanity.
The idea of the concept comes from the transformation of a former mining area for the extraction of building materials for a future human habitat
it develops underground and in height, hosting green areas and multifunctional buildings.
The structure could be applied to all the mining areas built with the first superficial settlements and then converted into large human habitats allowing through underground tunnels the connection of various poles that emerge from the ground as towers.
The Idea comes from the attempt to combine in a single project the Eco City 2020 of the Russian Architecture Studio Ab Elis Ltd. and a large-scale model of the current most famous underground city in Australia, Coober Pedy;
the construction of the Martian landscape and atmosphere was influenced by the photos Sinai desert, Egypt (Africa) a wasteland with orange, ocher and red hues that stretch for kilometers while contrasting with a clear blue sky.
