Title: Didn’t you add salt?
Many parents play psychological games trying to reach intimacy especially in a culture embedded with shame and guilt. Sometimes you see them fighting for no reason and you interfere to help where there didn't need any help and from their perspective it's only a matter of repressed emotions, trying to discharge them.
It always starts with a symbiotic invitation of banal things like adding salt to food.
I wasn't aware of it when my reaction was impulsive to solve something “in their minds” was not a conflict.
I represent this symbiotic invitation by transforming the salt shaker into a grenade shaker in the middle of the table that is always ready to explode. Humidity and coldness in this old kitchen corner represent the environment of war memories and stories that we used to listen to in our childhood. For now, I watch the conflict to end and acknowledge That they are OK, even if they don’t, based on my perspective, so this is their way of living that I'm not responsible for. I'm out and free of this game.
Thanks for your time to read.
