Notes
Morning Moments at Parkside, Lynn.
Client Brief - Please create a fly-through of the whole apartment, showing as much as possible in 30 seconds.
Return Brief - In these strange times where display suites are rarely open due to Covid restrictions, the importance of placing your viewer into the potential lifestyle they could have at any development is so important. We wanted this film to appeal to the correct demographic. From research we realised that we were targeting young professional couples, first home buyers. You could say the average Joe. This isn't an ultra luxury development, the potential purchasers dont own yachts and super cars or have $80k sofas. So we knew we needed to somehow relate and connect to engage them with the film. That is why we felt everyone can relate to their typical, mundane morning routine getting ready for work.
Budget - We had a limited budget (30 seconds). It was critical to cover all of the developers needs/wants but also not zoom around the apartment like a VFX rollercoaster.
Concept -
Our idea for the animation was to show the potential purchaser the space through the eyes of an inhabitant waking up and getting ready for the day ahead.
We wanted to convey a typical energetic morning routine and contrast that with the calm interiors and serene views.
The film starts with the alarm going off in the bedroom and flows into the ritual of getting ready in the ensuite/WIR.
We then progressed into the dining/kitchen area to portray the daily breakfast feast (being prepared/eaten/cleaned away) followed by the owner grabbing her keys to exit the apartment for her day ahead.
As there were no people in the film, all the gestures of movement were driven through accessories, styling and most importantly the sound script/design.
The sound was pivotal in the whole production and was what helped set the narrative for the initial storyboard when I wrote it out. Without sound design this piece would not be anywhere near as successful. We felt it was a refreshing change to all the house and jazz music that is normally dropped in the background of archviz animations.
We hope you like this short but sweet production.
