The aim of this project was to facilitate promoters to sell properties in a more efficient and faster way, allowing clients to experience their future homes in a way they never dreamed would be possible. The application was entirely built for VR in mind, and we added the controller option for those who don’t feel comfortable wearing a VR headset. The building models are modelled in Revit and brought into Unreal using Datasmith and thanks to the power of Data Prep we easily replaced materials, applied UV projection and collisions to a number of assets that would have been impossible to do manually. Optimization and performance was key for the client, so we had to make sure that we kept strong visuals without sacrificing performance as the chance of having a non VR user testing was highly likely and keeping a stable frame rate was critical. We successfully achieved it by using extensively the optimization tools included in Unreal allowing us to maintain stunning visuals while we are in VR.
