Mountain View Village is CenterCal’s newest placemaking project. Situated on 85 acres in one of the fastest-growing areas in the Salt Lake Valley, Mountain View Village’s architecture, landscaping, and sculptures honor the deep history of the area.
Infraworks was used to extract the geometry for the mountains allowing us to change cameras without worrying about blackplates and parallax.
All shots had their own lighting, people and retail assets schemes. We controlled all in 3 max files using Pulze Scene manager, we have been re-working our files' structure to take advantage of it while keeping our Xref based pipeline. HOUDINI was used for the fountains simulation and the brought into 3dsmax as a set of alembick files. The clouds for the aerials are VDB files rendered on Vray GPU as a separate pass ANIMA was used for the crowds simulation but characters and motion clips from different sources got imported to ANIMA to add diversity.
