EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The visuals created are of before and after the restoration. Each stone was individually modeled based on the CAD drawings used to label the stones during the construction process.

The Restoration of the Hermitage is to repair original features, which includes the reconstruction of a portion of the South Facade. The project disassembled each existing stone, while labeling to document the location and orientation of each stone. The existing foundations and walls to be disassembled and reused where needed. New foundations were poured and a steel structure will be erected. The added stability will allow a framework to support the reassembly of the existing stones using contemporary mortar. When completed, the Hermitage will appear almost as it does today, but will be stable and will allow visitors to experience the ruins safely.
