Based on the architecture of Kalihiwai Ridge by Noho Workshop.

We did this image in our spare time whilst working on other angles for Kalihiwai Ridge on on Kaua?i, Hawai?i to showcase how we could interpret the architect's intentions in various ways...The architects of this project, Noho Workshop, put anaha? (Hawaiian for "reflection of light") at the centre for their design decisions which influenced the orientation of the residence, the location and size of windows, the layering of the softscape, choice of materials, colours and textures, etc...

In this interpretation we purposely chose a low camera angle to reduce the focus on the rooftop geometry and we desaturated the colours of the proposed interior styling to reduce the impact of all elements of the image that could take focus away from the light which ought to be the hero of this image. In post, we emphasised the blacks surrounding the building to frame the natural light that bounces off the exterior at the centre of the image.

The scene was built in CG except for the mountain ridge in the background which was added in post.
